Michael Thomas Hitchcock (Mike or Mikey) age 59, of Wisconsin Dells was called home by our Heavenly Father on Monday, September 15, 2025, surrounded by family and a dear friend, Michelle, following a courageous battle with Cancer.

Mike was born in Madison, Wisconsin, on November 16, 1965, to Thomas Lynn Hitchcock and Betty Jane Kowald Hitchcock. He resided in Madison until October of 2018 when he moved to Wisconsin Dells to be near his aunt and cousins, but never forgetting his family in Madison and lifelong friendships that he held dear.

Mike enjoyed many outdoor activities and had a "green thumb" for gardening. He was also an avid hunter and skilled fisherman. He enjoyed playing cards, gambling, watching NASCAR races and the Green Bay Packers. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his friends which he referred to as his "Hancock Lake Family", camping and getting much needed relaxation and stress relief. He loved anything to do with animals with a special love for dogs and cats. Many people called him the "Dog Whisperer". He loved to dog sit and rarely found a dog that he could not get along with.

Mikes favorite season was around Halloween, "Pumpkin Season" as he referred for many years. Mike would throw a pumpkin carving party for the neighborhood kids and continued that tradition after moving to the Dells area. Mike had a heart of gold with a great sense of humor and every life he touched loved him like a brother or sister. Even though life dealt him a mixed deck of health conditions, he pushed through the pain and always offered a smile.

Throughout his life Mike wore many hats, until his pain and health forced him to swallow his pride and go on with disability. He worked as a building contractor/remodeler, Mechanic and gas station attendant for his Uncle Dave eventually moving on to dealing cards at several casinos. Mike still dabbled with being a handyman and playing with his tools when he was given the chance and he could still tolerate the pain.

Mike is survived by his brother Robert Hitchcock, his sister Barb Lavoie and family, Niece Ashley Christensen and family, Aunt Carolyn Hitchcock, Kristin Ziech and family, Deanne (Adam) Borleske and family, Jeff Hitchcock, The Hancock Lake family and friends, his best friend since childhood Eric Schnabel as well as too many more friends and family members to mention and finally, his loving companion "Snickers" the cat.

Mike is preceded in death by his Parents Tom and Betty Hitchcock, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles as well as his Cousin Bill Hitchcock and his all-time favorite chocolate lab and longtime companion "Brownie".

At Mikes request, there will be a Celebration of Life held on October 25, 2025, Starting at 12:00 Noon at Poor Nates Tavern, (S2263 WI Hwy 23 Reedsburg, WI 53959). Luncheon served with a cash bar.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that any monetary contributions or donations received be given to Agrace Hospice of Fitchburg, WI, in memory of Mike Hitchcock.

The family and friends would like to give a special Thank you to Agrace Hospice, for taking such great care of Mike and making him comfortable in his final weeks.
