Norma Esther Morehouse, age 89, passed away on November 2, 2021, at her home in Wisconsin Dells, WI.
Norma was born on April 9, 1932, to William and Daisy Stanford in Stoughton, WI. Norma met her future husband, James Obert Morehouse, in high school and they were wed on June 18, 1955, at the Methodist Church in Marshall, WI. During the next 20 plus years, Norma and James lived in several different states due to his work. In 1979, they settled in Wisconsin Dells and made it their home. Norma and Jim had seven children and she spent much of her lifetime as a homemaker and a loving mother to her children.
Norma is survived by her children Kathy (Jim) Fry of Detroit Lakes, MN, Laurie (Howard) Blegen of Leeds, ND, Beth (Raleigh) Swanson of Fargo, ND, Dianne (Lowell) Ziech of Reedsburg, WI, Tom and Kelly Morehouse of Baraboo, WI, and Molly (Glen) La Ravia of Baraboo, WI; 16 grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy VanderSande and sister-in-laws, Dolly Sandford and Dorothy Neitzel. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James on June 11, 1987, and her son, Dan on July 25, 2010.
A very special person, Chuck Marshall, entered her life 16 years ago and the family wants to give a very special thank you to him for the love, care and companionship that he had given her over this time.
The following is a poem written by Chuck to Norma entitled "My angel has broken wings".
"God sent an angel to hold my hand and guide me throughout each day and night in my life. She would wrap her wings and love around me from all the days and night's pain. Now my angel has broken wings and cannot fly. So now I wrap my arms and love around her to protect her from each day's and night's pain like she did for me.
To love, to hold her close to my heart, just like she did for me. I pray each day for God to heal my angel's broken wings so she my fly again. My angel has broken wings and cannot fly.
(Charles K. Marshall/Wisconsin Dells, WI)
