Owen Cloud, age 78 of Lake Delton, Wisconsin walked on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Native American Church in Wisconsin Dells with John Morris, Sr. officiating. Owen will be laid to rest at the Indian Baptist Church Cemetery near his beloved Tega and mentor John Greengrass who inspired his carpentry skills and love for the Native American Church. Visitation will be held at the Native American Church on Friday beginning at 3 p.m.

Owen was born March 3, 1943 in Baraboo, Wisconsin the son of Edward and Ruth (Greengrass) Cloud. Owen grew up in the Baraboo area and attended MATC in Madison for carpentry. With his master carpentry skills he helped build the Native American Church twice. He was a well known Roadman across Indian country and was a lifetime board member for the Wisconsin Dells chapter. Owen had worked for Marshall Erdman of Waunakee for 22 years and had his own production line named after him, worked for Winnebago IHS for 9 years and for the HHCDA from 1999 until he retired again in 2013. Owen was mechanically talented and liked Chevrolet and Corvette Stingray muscle cars. He also enjoyed "punching in" at the casino and bingo hall, woodworking and beadwork, and watching sporting events like boxing, Packers, Huskers and Badger games.

Owen was also very proud of his Native American heritage. He attended NAC meetings throughout the United States and was a champion pow wow dancer across the nation as well and danced locally at the Stand Rock Indian Ceremonial and Ft. Dells and was well known for his blanket act.

Owen is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Ivan, Tyrone and Owen, Jr.; daughter, Susette; brothers, Paul (Rose) Cloud, Allen (Sharon) Cloud and Nathan Cloud; sister, Elena Greendeer; 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lohman, Alvin, Dillard, John, and Dennis Michael; sisters, Marjorie, Marvel Jean, Bernice and Marlene; and nieces and nephews, Carson, Curtis, CeCe, Michael and Marlene.
