Ralph W. Armson, 89, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, with his loving wife, soulmate, and best friend, Alice, by his side, after a courageous battle with Parkinsons disease.

Born on July 9, 1935, in Portage, Ralph grew up in Big Springs, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence and Oline (Jacobson) Armson, who were of Norwegian heritage. He attended a one-room schoolhouse in Big Springs through eighth grade and graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School at age 17. Shortly after, Ralph moved to Texas, returning to Wisconsin two years later, where he began dating Alice Tofson.

In 1957, Ralph enlisted in the Army, and on June 28, 1958, he and Alice were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Dells. Ralph pursued a career as a Tool and Die apprentice beginning in 1960. In 1977, Ralph and Alice welcomed their son, Karl Anders Armson, into their lives. In 2000, Ralph retired from the Tool and Die industry and went on to work at Picha Funeral Home for ten years. To escape Wisconsin winters, Ralph and Alice purchased a home in Palm Harbor, Florida, where they spent cherished time with their son until his passing in 2017.

Ralph was a man of many skills and accomplishments, having passed both the Real Estate and Government Postal exams. He enjoyed mowing "manicuring" his lawn and took pride in maintaining his home and equipment. A lifelong enthusiast of technology, Ralph enjoyed keeping up with the latest innovations and had a particular fondness for cars.

An adventurer at heart, Ralph believed in the importance of travel, even during tight financial times, ensuring yearly vacations with Alice. Over their 66 years of marriage, their adventurous spirit took them to 17 countries and countless destinations across the United States. Ralph's humor and wit earned him friends worldwide. The couple traveled frequently to Japan, Spain, Norway, Australia, and Thailand, often hosting international guests in their Wisconsin Dells home. Ralph played a key role in establishing the Wisconsin Dells-Iwaizumi Japanese Exchange Program and proudly hosted 18 Japanese chaperones over the years.

Ralph is survived by his devoted wife, Alice; brother-in-law Roger (Carolyn) Tofson; nephews, Bill (Lisa) Tofson, Pete Tofson; niece, Jill (Bryan) Haakenson and their children and numerous cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Graham Lee (Kathleen Blanche) Armson and an infant brother; nephew, Graham Henry Armson; and his beloved son, Karl Anders Armson.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Matt Gehrke officiating. Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Sunday, January 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Military Honors will be provided.
