Richard L. "Dick" Brogley, Jr. "aka Butch" age 72, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with COPD.

Funeral services for Dick Brogley will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church, 730 Cedar Street, Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Paul Snyder officiating. Visitation will be the same day from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Plainville Cemetery located on Highway 13 following the service.

Dick was born February 13, 1954, in Kankakee, IL, the son of Richard and Helen (Womack) Brogley, Sr. He later moved to the Wisconsin Dells area (aka Lower Adams County aka "LA"). Dick married Judith A. Grefe on November 15, 1975 and they had 2 daughters together. He worked for many decades as an OTR truck driver for several companies (he drove millions of miles). He traveled to all 48 connecting states and parts of Canada. He made friends with everyone he came across and collected hundreds of hilarious stories. He had many CB conversations with his fellow truckers along his travels - they gave him the handle "The Hangman".  He couldn't go anywhere without running into someone he knew. After he hung up his CB for the last time of driving over the road, he went on to help out his friend, "farmer Ken", playing out in the fields, planting, discing and harvesting. He loved his family and kept his friends close, sharing laughter and stories over and over, including tips on the best roadways to travel (via his old school atlas aka his MAP - no GPS for him), how to detail cars (amongst other car pro tips), how to wire/rewire pretty much anything and how to acquire a perfectly manicured lawn. He loved jamming out to his wide variety of music via his treasured ipod while hanging out in his garage working on some kind of project whether it was detailing or wiring. He always took pride in his ride - all family vehicles were sparkling clean.  He loved all things green, favorite color was chrome and his lucky number was 47. He maintained his smart mouth and quick wit whether he was feeling good or not. He always had a one liner for you.

Dick is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy. He leaves behind an extensive loving family and extended chosen family and friends, including his daughters, Debbie Denise (Todd) Zirzow and Jill (Dale) Brown; grandchildren Alex, Jordan, and Evany; siblings, Dee White, Donna (Charlie) Bolduc, Vicki (Kelly) Flynn, Lori Davey, Kristi (Bob) Anderson, Kay Hundt, and Terry (Mary) Richards. Along with many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents; his great-granddaughter, Sapphire Brogley; siblings, Rhonda Frame, Craig Richards, Patty Schildgen; brother-in-law, Joe Davey and long-time friend, Bob Jones and many others he loved. As an avid cat lover he will be welcomed by his clowder of cats: Taboo, Sammy, Tootsie, Sunny, Sissy, Pookey and Charlie.

Everyone sends the deepest gratitude and sympathies to Judy, who was his 24/7 caregiver and constant companion taking care of him in their home for the past few years. The family also wants to send a BIG thanks out to Agrace Hospice Care for their help in taking care of him during the last year.
