Robert (Rob) W. Young, age 57, of Baraboo, WI, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Robert was born April 19, 1968, in Canton, OH, son of Wilma (Minor) Young and grandson of Sam and Suzie Minor. Robert's life was defined by immense generosity, unwavering faith, and boundless creativity. He was always filled with so much light and love, and his joyful presence will be dearly missed.
Robert was known for his extraordinary musical talents. A master guitarist across every genre and an incredible songwriter, he wrote hundreds of songs that brought joy and comfort to so many. Fishing was Rob's other great passion, usually followed by fish tales in which the fish grew bigger with each retelling. God was the most important thing in Rob's life. He held the word of God in the highest esteem, allowing his faith to carry him through every season of hardship and of celebration. Above all else, Robert loved his family, children, and grandchildren with an endlessly giving heart and was the greatest supporter of their accomplishments.
Robert is survived by his wife, Tracy, and their children: Elizabeth (Rob), Sean (Sherri), James, Zachary, Travis (Hazel), Christian (Becky), Robin, Sevon (Maddy), and Reyah. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Cameryn, Lillianna, Brooke, Jaimee, Jordan, Lacilae, Theodore, and Scarlett. He is further survived by his mother, Wilma (Matt), his sisters, Amber (Doug) and Michel'e (Eric), his brother, Adam (Shannon), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his son, Randy, and grandparents, Sam and Suzie Minor.
Rob's Celebration of Life is being held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at The Baraboo Arts Center, 323 Water St, Baraboo.
