Rosalie K. Peterson, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025.
A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells, led by Fr. Paul Arinze. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Rosalie was born on November 21st, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Helen (Marcaniak) Kraczek. She was an avid singer, which led her to meet her husband, John L. Peterson, in the Bay View High School choir. Rosie became a skilled runner, having accomplished many races and marathons, including the Boston Marathon in 1978. We remember her for her love of the arts, coaching, directing, and uplifting young performers of the children's theatre in Wauwatosa, WI. Her passion continued as a member of the Village Playhouse of Wauwatosa. An adventurous and loving soul, we remember her for her enthusiasm, warmth, and open arms to all.
Rosalie is survived by her siblings, Adeline and Robert Krazeck, and is preceded in death by her sister, Caroline. She is also survived by her son, Steve (and Tess) Peterson, her daughter, Cheryl (and Rodrick) Chetney, and her grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Dale, Macy, Savannah, and Jasmine.
