Roselind Mary
Laporte
Sep 4, 1928 — Mar 1, 2025
Baraboo
Roselind LaPorte, age 96 of Mauston, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mauston with Fr. Eric Berns celebrating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Roselind will be laid to rest next to her husband Michael at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Mauston following Mass.
Roselind was born on September 4, 1928, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Pauline (Ondesco) Tammone. Roselind married the love of her life Michael on June 19, 1948, in Chicago, IL where they lived until 1958 and resided in Palatine, IL until 1974. At that time, they moved to Mauston, WI and resided there in a home they built together until 2022. Her final home was at Oak Park Place in Baraboo.
Raising her family and family gatherings were her greatest joy. A huge Italian meal with at least three desserts was a given. Grandchildren were a treasure, and her laughter filled the room. Between cooking she was busy canning, crocheting, reading Danielle Steele books and working on multiple puzzles. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. Even when the days grew difficult, she still wanted to talk about the apple trees and what everyone else was still doing. March 1st she was set free from all the pain and rejoined with her love, Michael.
Roselind is survived by her sons, Michael Jr. (Sandy) of Mauston, Ken (Beverly) of Lyndon Station and John (Carol) of Marshfield, her daughter Patty Kierski of Sauk City. Her grandchildren; Gwen, Jackie, Robert, Fred, Sam, Andy, Becca, Kate, Mike and Ben, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Michael Sr., grandson Adam, two brothers, Rich and John and son in law, Michael Kierski.
Special thanks to the staff at Oak Park Place for their care and compassion and to Stephanie and the hospice team for their care.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic School in Mauston.
