Rosemary Zick, age 80, of Briggsville, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026 at her home.

Rosemary was born January 30, 1946 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Mabel (Johnson) Robertson. She grew up in Sparta WI and married the love of her life, Gayle Zick. As a devoted couple, they shared 60 years of marriage and were blessed with four sons and five grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend whose greatest joy came from caring for those around her. She had a quiet way of making people at ease, whether it was through a warm conversation, a thoughtful gesture, or simply sharing her time. Her love was steady, patient, and unconditional.

Rosemary worked many years at AMPI in Portage, WI and later for the Wisconsin Dells School District, where she was known not only for her dedication but for the kindness she showed everyone she met. She believed in doing her work well and treating people with respect.

She found beauty in creating things with her hands; crocheting was more than a hobby—it was an expression of her love. She was always excited to learn a new pattern or tackle a project that others might think impossible. Whether she was stitching together a cozy blanket or bringing an adorable crochet animal to life, every piece carried a part of her heart. Many of us will forever be wrapped in the warmth of something she made, remembering the hands that crafted it with such love. Her love extended far beyond people. Animals were never just pets to her; they were family. She lovingly raised horses, dogs, hedgehogs, parrots, chickens, and anything else that needed a home and delighting in their unique personalities and caring for each one with remarkable patience and tenderness. More than anything, she taught us that love is found in everyday moments—in a handmade blanket, in caring for an animal, in showing up for your family and friends, and in offering kindness without expecting anything in return.

Of all of life's blessings her grandchildren were her most cherished.

Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we are forever grateful for the years we shared with her. We will miss her smile, her creativity, her gentle spirit, and the love she gave so freely. The memories she created and the lives she touched will continue to comfort us.

She is survived by her husband Gayle; sons Kevin (Cindy), Brian (Iris), and Brent; grandchildren, Jayson, Jenna, Broderic, Allyssa, and Levi along with countless family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son Kenneth.
