Ruth Esther Lenovich, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, in Scottsdale, AZ, at the age of 97.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00. Burial will follow at Lake Delton Village Cemetery.
Ruth was born in Proctor, MN, on January 30, 1928, the daughter of Charles and Esther Erickson. Ruth was a graduate of Superior Central High School in 1945 and attended University of Wisconsin in Superior. She was united in marriage to John B. Lenovich on November 28, 1953, in Superior. They moved from Superior to Lake Delton in 1959, where they spent many happy years together. John and Ruth were snowbirds in Scottsdale, AZ for many winters and Ruth moved permanently to Scottsdale in 2021, living with her daughter, Kerry and her family. Ruth was a devoted member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells, WI, and Ascension Lutheran Church in Scottsdale, AZ. She was an avid quilter at both churches and was proud of the hundreds of quilts donated to charities. A breast cancer survivor, Ruth walked for many years in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and was Chairman of the Lake Delton Blood Drive for 10 years.
Ruth is survived by her loving daughters, Kimberly Klein of Kansas City, MO, and Kerry Sussman (Jeffery) of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Justin Klein, Kylie Sussman and Connor Sussman (Kelly); great grandson, Carter Rodriguez; sister, Charlene Tyson; her poodle, Gracie, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, in 1996; her siblings, Charles Erickson, Jr., Raymond Erickson, Donald Erickson, and Shirley Baker.
Ruth loved us all endlessly, and our lives have all been blessed for having Ruth in them.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bethany Lutheran Church or Sauk County Humane Society in Baraboo, WI.
