Sandra Kay Rowe, (nee Gerbitz) 72, of Briggsville passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 21st, 2024. She is now reunited with her mother, father, and many cherished relatives and animals. The outpour of love and support Sandra received over the last two years is a testament to how much she meant to her family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Briggsville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Cotter presiding. Please join the family for a time of fellowship and a luncheon at the church following the service.

Sandra is survived by her children, Sonya Deiches (Jon) and Christopher Rowe (Mary), her grandchildren, Beverly Rowe, Adam Rowe, and Nora Deiches, her sisters Sue Johnston (Bill) and Sally Ashline (David), and her brother Jerry Gerbitz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon "Skip" and Delores Gerbitz.

Sandra was an independent, intelligent and talented person who devoted her life to her family, her animals, her community, and her work. She loved being a mother. She made clothes for her children to wear, invested her time in her children's activities, and always made sure to prepare family meals. She adored family camping trips and games of euchre, cribbage, and Michigan Rummy. Once her grandchildren arrived, she found immense purpose in being grandma. She read to them every night and made them clothes, dolls, clothing for the dolls, and Halloween costumes. Sandra was also a teacher that went above and beyond for her students and her school. She is remembered for her wonderful work in special education at La Follette High School and staying after school to help run athletic events.

Sandra had many hobbies and talents. She loved spending time in her garden and preserving produce. She was incredibly crafty, and always had multiple sewing, crocheting, knitting, and quilting projects. She was active in her community as a cub scout leader, 4-H project leader with the Douglas Doers, creator of the Neenah Creek Elementary newsletter, and member of the Portage Peddlers biking and cribbage club. Her love of biking even led her to complete her first triathlon at the age of 60. After the cancer slowed her down, she found her joy in watching the birds and animals in her yard and researching her family tree. She will be missed.

Memorials may be given to Briggsville Fire Dept, Douglas Doers 4-H Club, and Briggsville United Methodist Church.
