Theodore "Ted" Hellenbrand, age 72, of Lake Delton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

A Memorial Service for Ted will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, at 2:30 P.M. at the Picha Funeral Home – Lake Delton. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at 2:30 P.M. Ted will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom at a later date.

Ted was born on December 19, 1951, in Florida. The son of Theodore and Elaine (Sorg) Hellenbrand. After spending the early part of Ted's life in Florida, the family moved to a farm outside of Rock Springs. Ted spent his childhood working on the farm and spending time with his best friend, Frank. Ted graduated from Reedsburg High School. After high school, Ted met his first wife, Ann. Ted attended UW-Baraboo / Sauk County, and later Madison Area Technical College, where he immersed himself in art.

Ted was a child of the '60s and had many different hobbies and interests. He loved movies, playing violin, dancing, and martial arts. Ted spent considerable time at Paik's Academy in Madison. There he learned the values of discipline and balance. As a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, Ted became a Sensei and opened Dells-Delton Tae Kwon Do to pass along the skills and values of martial arts. He was a highly rated competitor and took great pride and joy in watching his students and his sons compete and succeed. Ted also loved photography and visual arts. He spent many years as a staff photographer for Madison Area Technical College.

Ted also spent many years working at Ho-Chunk Casino as a security officer and surveillance agent. There he met his second wife, Kat. In his later years, Ted enjoyed spending time with his family and watching old movies.

Ted spent his entire life studying the bible and growing in his walk with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ted will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit, his wonderful sense of humor, and his love and compassion for his family and friends.

Ted is survived by his two sons: Seth (Rachel) and Diedrik Hellenbrand. He is also survived by his sister Jewel (Roger) Rockwell, sister-in-law Lois Hewitt, grandson Andrew, best friend and brother Frank Phippen, and special friend Ann Cady. Ted is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Hewitt, and his 2nd wife Kathy.
