Trevor Kranz, age 49, of Winchester, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at Froedtert Hospital on Thursday, April 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, after unexpected complications following a recent transplant.

The family invites extended family and friends to a memorial gathering from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station WI. A private service for immediate family will be held prior to the visitation.

Trevor was born on March 5, 1975, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, as the first of a set of twin sons born to Francis and Vickie (Dunahee) Kranz, of rural Wisconsin Dells. Trevor graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1993. It was here he honed his lifetime love for music - especially the guitar — and was active in the concert and jazz bands. His senior year, he also took it upon himself to form and direct a new "Rock Ensemble," to perform contemporary rock songs using musical arrangements he wrote for every instrument. Trevor's love for music continued into college at UW-Stout, where he again played in the concert and jazz bands and jammed with other friends/musicians, while working part time in the music department. During the summers he worked in the Dells at Timber Falls and Steenburg Homes. After college, Trevor moved to the Fox Cities, and was hired at Alta Resources, where he spent his entire career. During this time, Trevor maintained his connection to music by playing in a couple cover bands, including at Summer Fest, and was known to send family and friends recordings of songs he played at home - including midnight texts of his latest Jimi Hendrix-inspired version of "Auld Lang Syne" each year on New Years Eve. Trevor was a man of many talents. In high school, he built a custom electric guitar, which he still owned and played. In college, he successfully rebuilt the engine on his Jeep CJ7 - despite having never done it before. He later bought and completely renovated a turn of the century home, designing and hand-building custom cabinetry for his kitchen and bathroom.

A selfless friend, Trevor was always willing to drop what he was doing to help others, whether it was to remodel a house, repair a vehicle, mow a lawn or shovel snow. He was always just a phone call away.

In 2016, Trevor married Carissa Johnston, and they moved to nearby Winchester, Wisconsin. In 2019, they welcomed their son, Elliott. Trevor's proudest experience in life was his role as a father. He looked forward to a lifetime of sharing his love of music, camping, hiking, kayaking and travels to his beloved Glacier National Park with his family.

Trevor is survived by his wife Carissa; son Elliott; parents, Fran and Vickie Kranz; twin brother, Trenton Kranz; maternal grandmother, Ardis Dunahee; aunts and uncles - Dennis Dunahee (Lory Boyd), Ona Stowell, Penny (Dean) Dickman, John Dunahee, Erna (Skip) Hurley, Jeanie (Rich) Bauernfiend; special aunt - Gail Dunahee and countless beloved cousins and extended family. Trevor is further survived by his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Vicki Johnston; sisters-in-law, Heather (Jeff) Collier and Emily Johnston, and brother-in-law Matt (Karen) Johnston, and several nieces and nephews. As well as his special friends in the Fox Valley, the Jansen family and Rick and Debbie Schroeder and family.

Trevor was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents - Lyle and Geraldine Kranz; maternal grandfather - Oscar Dunahee; uncles, Kenneth Dunahee, Patrick Finucan and Dennis Stowell; aunts, Mikeleen Finucan and Christine Dunahee; special friend "Grandma Jo", and his faithful pets/companions over the years - Zues, Mackey, Harley and Jazz.

In lieu of flowers, Trevor would ask you to use your resources to enjoy time with your loved ones - particularly out in nature.
