William "Bill" Giebel, age 68, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, after a brief illness.

Bill was born on March 19, 1956, in Baraboo, Wisconsin. From an early age, it was evident that Bill was a born farmer. As a young boy, Bill used wooden blocks fastened to the pedals of the tractor so he could reach with his feet. With an unwavering work ethic and deep commitment to the family farm, Bill worked endlessly to ensure its success, often placing the needs of the farm above his own.

A graduate of Wisconsin Dells High School in 1974, Bill pursued agricultural studies at WWTC. During this time, he began dating Kathleen Honish. The couple married on April 10, 1976, and in 1977 they purchased the Stanke farm. Together they built both their farm and family over the next 47 years.

Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family. Whether riding in tractors, sledding down hillsides, going to truck pulls or trail riding on horseback, Bill loved these moments with his children and grandchildren. He was actively involved with horses and supported the 4-H Horse and Pony Club, earning an award for his outstanding and dedicated service to Adams County 4-H in 1996. His love for Case IH tractors reflected Bill's passion for farming and machinery. Known for his practical approach to life's challenges, he was always ready with a creative solution or just the right tool for any task. Bill will be remembered for his honest, straightforward nature, sense of humor and willingness to lend a helping hand.

In celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary, Bill and Kathleen enjoyed a long-awaited trip to Hawaii where they went zip-lining, whale watching, island hopping, and even danced at a luau. The trip brought such joy and relaxation that Bill earned the affectionate nickname, "Hawaii Bill".

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Kathleen; his children, Beth (Jake) Peyton, Megan (Patrick) Cowan, and Adam (Katie) Giebel; and five grandchildren whom he referred to as "my friends" - Peyton, Matthew, Molly, Billy and Kaisley. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Steven; parents-in-law, Francis and Dorothy Honish; and brother-in-law, David Honish.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Fr. Luke Powers celebrating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Bill's name to the Adams County 4-H Royal Wranglers Horse & Pony Club or the Wisconsin Dells FFA Chapter.
